The Bund
Jason's Shanghai girlfriend - they love the white guy!
The Bund at Night
All the travel blogs say to visit the Bund both in the day and again at night. This is a definitely must! The Bund is absolutely beautiful with the bright lights and colors.
Nanjing Road
Lots and lots of shopping! We were hoping that the Apple Store would be cheaper but it was more expensive than in the US.
Chinese Flash Mob
View from our hotel - overlooking the river. A great location, only a five minute walk to Nanjing Road and ten minutes to the Bund.
We went to the Shanghai General Carpet Factory as part of our tour.
It was pretty interesting to see how they make the rugs even though we had no intention of buying it.
Chinatown
Chinatown in Shanghai wouldn't be complete without a Starbucks and McDonalds!
We didn't have time to sample this dumpling place but the line was around the building!
Yu Yuan Garden - built in the Ming Dynasty
We met up with our friends Alice and Dennis for some food, window shopping and more food! (Thanks again for showing us around and taking us to eat lots of good food!)
Best pan fried dumplings ever! and it was only $1!
Now it's steamed pork and crab dumpling time!
I have no idea what this place was called but it was a cool maze of little shops with apartments above. They had lots of hand-made crafts, art and unique items like the OBA MAO bag with President Obama's face in Chairman Mao's hat.
Hot Pot dinner time!
This restaurant was pretty awesome. There was a make your own sauce bar and a guy that stretches the noodle by tossing it in the air. If it breaks, he needs to start over - he only broke it once.
Browsing around a local market
All kinds of tofu...even stinky tofu!
Shanghai Street Food
yams and chesnuts
Chinese Hamburger...YUM!
Octopus
For some reason, this restaurant had two monk manneqins in the window pretending to eat. Weird.
The Pizza Hut at Nanjing Road was really nice. They have a five course meal for two which includes steak, seafood, alcohol, and dessert for less than $20.
Jade Buddha Temple
Asian only clearance...Jason is too tall for China
